Baton Rouge Man Booked on 100 Counts of Child Pornography
BATON ROUGE—Attorney General Buddy Caldwell announced today that a multi-agency investigation has led to the arrest of a Baton Rouge man on 100 counts of distributing child pornography.
Investigators have arrested Albert J. Doyle Jr., 46, of 2677 Drusilla Lane, as a result of a joint effort involving the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, Department of Homeland Security, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. The Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit conducted an investigation into the possible possession of child pornography which led agents to execute a search warrant at Doyle’s residence. During the search, investigators discovered that Doyle was in possession of numerous pornographic images of children. Doyle was arrested in Metairie and booked into the Jefferson Parish Prison as a fugitive. He was then transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and booked with 100 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
“When my cyber-crime and fugitive units are investigating and working these cases against suspects, it is crucial to have support and assistance from other agencies. The team mentality saves money and maintains efficiency so that all law enforcement officers are one step ahead of offenders,” Attorney General Caldwell said.
Doyle is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted as charged, he faces up to 20 years in prison on each count of child pornography.
The Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit investigates computer crimes which have victimized children from infants to 17 years of age. To report suspected cases of Internet crime, call 1-800-256-4506.
