All public schools in Vermilion Parish closing due to rain

All public schools in Vermilion Parish will close at 11 a.m.
Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau announced the decision at 9:45 a.m.
Indian Bayou Elementary closed earlier Friday morning. The school was reportedly struck by lightening. No damage was reported, but the school did lose electricity.
Friday was the first day for public schools in the parish.
