Abbeville school, Lighthouse, thankful for its ‘bright’ future

Students at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Abbeville began its celebration of the Thanksgiving holidays with a program stressing the importance of education.
Students and teachers wore sunglasses to the school to celebrate the theme: “We are thankful for our future and our futures are so bright, we had to wear sunglasses.”
Both they and this idea were inspired by Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr., who stresses that education is the key as well as the building block to futures with limitless possibilities and lifelong
opportunities.
Prophetess Ann Bolden, co-founder of the school, said that there is an element of brightness that goes far beyond the natural eye. She encourages the faculty to look at each child and seek out that child’s gifts.
Gregory Day was the guest speaker for the “positive future” event. The students and teachers had a traditional Thanksgiving feast after Day spoke.
