Abbeville 's 'Dooley' Hardy Scholarship awarded to NV student
The Fraternal Order of Police John “Dooley” Hardy Memorial Lodge presented this years’ John “Dooley” Hardy Memorial Scholarship to Jared Langley of Maurice.
Jared is an 18 year old senior at North Vermilion High School. Jared has a 3.327 grade point average. Jared plays for the North Vermilion High Soccer and Track Teams. Jared is also a member of Beta Club. After graduation, Jared is planning to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and study Business Administration and Criminal Justice. After college, Jared has plans to enter into the field of Law Enforcement. “I always wanted to be in Law Enforcement since I was a little kid,” quoted Jared.
Jared is the son of Kelly Broussard Hardy of Maurice and Douglas Langley of Lafayette.
The John “Dooley” Hardy Memorial Lodge would like to congratulate Jared for receiving this scholarship and wish him the best of luck with his future.
The John “Dooley” Hardy Lodge selects one senior from a Vermilion Parish High School to receive the scholarship. The student is required to complete an application with references, letters of recommendation, and essays. The applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Board and a student is selected.
The John “Dooley” Hardy Lodge was formed by members of Abbeville Police Department in 2006 as a local lodge under the National and State Fraternal Order of Police.
