Abbeville Police still searching for man who abducted female at gunpoint
The Abbeville Police are still searching for a man who abducted a nurse at gunpoint.
According to David Hardy, head of detectives for the Abbeville Police Department, the search continues as of 5 p.m. Thursday, no arrest has been made.
The Abbeville Police did bring in two people for questioning.
Hardy did release a brief description of the person the police are looking for.
He said the male was fully dressed in black clothing brandishing a firearm. The crime occurred behind a medical clinic near Abbeville General.
With public schools getting underway today, Herod Elementary is less than 100 yards away from where the crime took place. Lt. David Hardy said there is no threat to the students and faculty at Herod Elementary.
The school did go into a lockdown after learning about the beating.
At 8:30 Tuesday morning, a nurse was confronted by an unknown male wanting information about a local doctor. The nurse was held at gunpoint and then led away from the area where she was beaten by the unknown male subject. The nurse was later found behind the medical building by co-workers. The woman was treated and released from a local medical facility.
