Abbeville police searching for man who allegedly shot a juvenile in the leg

The Abbeville Police Department is searching for Michael Broussard for allegedly shooting a juvenile in the leg.

On Sunday,  officers of the Abbeville Police Department received a call from Abbeville General in reference to a juvenile that was shot in the leg.  

He was released from the hospital the same night.

Upon investigating the incident, the alleged shooter was identified as Michael Broussard (02/08/1979).  

A warrant was obtained for the arrest of Broussard.  As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, Broussard remains on the run from authorities.

Broussard is facing aggravated second degree battery charge and a charge of a convicted felon in possession with a firearm.
