Abbeville Police looking for man wanted for attempted murder
Abbeville Police is looking for a man wanted for attempted murder.
On the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 21, officers with the Abbeville Police Department began investigating a shooting which occurred on St. Peter Street in Abbeville.
During the initial investigation officers found a victim shot numerous times at a nearby location. The victim was transported to Abbeville General Hospital and then airlifted to another medical facility in Lafayette. The victim was listed in critical condition at that time.
The officers continued their investigation of the shooting and obtained a statements of what had occurred. The officers presented a photo line-up to one person who identified Nahshon Ishmael Brooks as the shooter.
Officers have secured arrests warrants for the arrest of Brooks for the charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone.
The photo of Brooks released by police is the most recent photo available. According to the information received, Brooks now has dreadlocks.
