Abbeville Police investigation abduction, beating of female Wednesday morning

As of 8:40 a.m. this morning, the Abbeville Police Department has been investigating an abduction of a female at a local medical building.
According to police, a female was confronted by an unknown male wanting information related to local doctor. The female was held at gunpoint and then led away from the area where she was beaten by the unknown male subject. The female was later found behind the medical building by co-workers. The female was treated and released from a local medical facility.
These actions led to the lock down of local schools, medical facilities and businesses. No further information is available at this time, according to the Abbeville Police Department. Information in this matter will be released as it comes available.
The lockdown was lifted prior to this news release.
