Abbeville man wanted on warrant turns himself in to police
An Abbeville man wanted in connection to a shooting in February turned himself in last week.
Jarred Clement, 22, wanted on multiple warrants, turned himself in at the Abbeville Police Department on March 24.
“He was booked on his warrants,” Abbeville Police Det. Leland Laseter said.
Those warrants include two counts of Principle to Attempted 1st Degree Murder, one count of Accessory After the Fact to 1st Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of Firearm.
After booking him, Abbeville Police transported Clement to the Vermilion Parish Correction Center. Clement remains there on a $400,000 bond.
Clement’s charges stem from his alleged involvement in a shooting that occurred in Abbeville on Feb. 6. Abbeville Police found two 17-year-old victims shot near the intersection of Maude Avenue and Marmont Street. The victims were transported to separate hospitals. The two have since been treated and released.
Police also arrested Andrew Granger, 20, in connection to the shooting. Granger was arrested nearly two weeks after the Feb. 6 shooting. St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Deputies took him into custody after investigating a call of shots fired at a party in Cecilia on Mardi Gras night.
Granger was brought to Abbeville, where police booked him on charges of two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Granger also remains in the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on $400,000 bond.
