Abbeville man killed offshore

The explosion that occurred Thursday afternoon on a rig about 12 miles offshore near the mouth of the Mississippi River claimed the life of Jerrel “Bubba” Hancock, 24, of Abbeville.
Hancock, a graduate of Abbeville High School, leaves behind a wife and two children.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Vincent Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
