Abbeville issues boil advisory; schools in city closed on Monday

The City of Abbeville has issued a boil advisory.
The city issued the advisory early Monday after discovering a problem with the water system.
Those who utilize the city’s water system should boil water for one full minute prior to consumption or use.
As a result of the boil advisory, Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau reported that all public schools in Abbeville are closed on Monday. That includes Abbeville High, J.H. Williams Middle School, Eaton Park Elementary and Herod Elementary. Vermilion Catholic, Mt. Carmel, Harvest Time Christian Academy and Lighthouse Christian Academy are also closed.
More details will be released as they are made available.
