Abbeville honors Dr. King with service, parade

More than 100 citizens gathered Monday on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Abbeville for the annual Stump Service.
Travis Harrison of Faith Hope Missionary Baptist Church served as the guest speaker. Harrison included in his message that those in attendance take with them Dr. King’s message throughout the year, not just for one day in January.
Abbeville also celebrated with the annual parade, which rolled from Herod Village to A.A. Comeaux Park. Lawrence “Crusher” Smith served as the Grand Marshall.
