Petry, Badon joined in Holy Matrimony

Leslie Rachelle Petry of Broussard, Louisiana, and Brandon Timothy Badon of Broussard were joined together in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan, Louisiana. Reverend Corey Campeaux officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Petry of Gueydan, and she is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Petry of Gueydan, Louisiana, and Mrs. Norma Bonin and the late Donald Bonin of Morse, Louisiana.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Judy Badon and the late Timothy Badon of Gueydan, and the grandson of Mrs. Irene Badon and the late Audley Badon and the late Buford and Dorothy Marceaux all of Gueydan.

The bride was escorted by her father. Her dress was a fabulous ivory fit and flare demir stretch satin gown by Sottero and Midgely. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline with ruching that enveloped the bodice and asymmetrically plummets below the waist, while the train pours into a gorgeous balloon hem.

Her veil was a cathedral length veil with an embroidered beaded edge.

The bride’s bouquet was a clutch of ivory hydrangea with vendella roses, ink blue delphinium, purple stock, lysianthia, Picasso calas, ivory mini cymbidium orchids, wine dahlias with stems wrapped with ivory satin ribbon and a handkerchief given to the bride by her matron of honor, with a sentimental rosary, belonging to the bride’s grandmother, intertwined in the bouquet.

Maggie Dupre Vincent, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids for the ceremony were Alyssa Labiche Martin, friend of the bride; Marissa Davidson Guidry, friend of the bride; Kandace Hartwell Hargrave, friend of the bride; Candace Badon Istre, sister of the groom; and Megan Courville, sister of the groom.

The bride’s attendents wore flowing, floor length marine-colored chiffon gown by Mori Lee, featuring a ruffle one-shoulder criss-cross draped bodice.

The best man for the ceremony was Tyler Abshire, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Blake Istre, friend of the groom; Donald “Bubba” Lemaire, Jr., friend of the groom; Ray Hatch, friend of the groom; Blake Freeland, friend of the groom; David Freeland, friend of the groom.

Ashyln Grace Cooper, godchild of the bride, served as a flower girl for the ceremony while Tate Michael Guidry, godchild of the bride, and Jaylon Shane Courville, godchild of the groom, served as ring bearers.

Ushers for the wedding were Daniel Petry, brother of the bride; Larry Lougon, uncle of the bride; Raegan Istre, brother-in-law of the groom; Shane Courville, brother-in-law of the groom. Scriptural readers were Kimberly Petry Lougon, aunt of the bride, and Holly Duprie Porter, cousin of the bride.

Gift bearers were Allison Chapman Istre and Malia Jackson, friends of the bride, while Gabe Lougon, godchild of the bride, was an altar server. Program attendants were Kaylee Brown, godchild of the bride; Cheyenne Lacomb, cousin of the groom; Brandon Lougon, cousin of the bride.

The vocalist for the afternoon was Jodi Bollich, with Scotty Walker on the trumpet, Kevin Martin on the organ and Yang Yang Li on violin. “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desire” was played for the seating of the parents and grandparents. The procession of the wedding party was signaled with “Cannon in D.” The entrance of the bride and her father was heralded by “Fanfare and Trumpet Voluntary.” Schubert’s “Ave Maria” marked the presentation to the Blessed Mother, and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” played for the processional.

A reception was held after the wedding at the Gueydan Civic Center. Afterward, the couple took a trip to Antigua. They will reside in Broussard when they return.

The bride is a graduate of Gueydan High School. After graduating in 2004, she attended McNeese State University, graduating in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is currently employed at Acadian HomeCare of Abbeville as a registered nurse.

The groom also graduated from Gueydan High School in 2004. He currently works at Murphy Oil as a production operator.
