Morvant, Dugas wed in Henry

Kelsey M. Morvant of Henry, Louisiana, and Cody J. Dugas of Henry were wed on July 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Henry. Father Cedric Sonnier officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Tiffany and Brody Lerette of Erath, Louisiana, and Joseph and Angelle Morvant of Morgan City, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Joseph P. Morvant, Sr. of Erath, Diane Morvant of Erath, Brinda Romero of Erath, and Wilda and Thomas Ponder of Killen, Alabama.

The groom is the son of Clint and Tessie Dugas of Henry. He is the grandson of Nelies and the late Donald Dugas of Henry, and the late Julius and Virgie Delcambre of Delcambre, Louisiana.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Joseph P. Morvant. She wore a Kenneth Winston wedding dress. It is an ivory English netting gown with a sweetheart neckline featuring a pleated, satin cummerbund inserted over the midriff with a beautiful, dropped waistline. The gown also features a beautifully beaded and embroidered skirt followed by the train that adds perfectly a touch of elegance. She wore a fingertip veil embroidered with floral print edges and beaded accents. Her bouquet was a mixed floral arrangement.

The maid of honor for the ceremony was Shay N. Duhon, a friend of the bride, wearing a strapless chiffon, floor-length dress. The bridesmaids were Mandy Luquette, cousin of the groom; Bailee Lerette, sister of the bride; Taylor Kay, cousin of the bride; and Jordan Morvant, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids wore a canary-colored chiffon dress. Emma Larette, sister of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid.

Alyssa Bellot, a friend of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a white dress with one strap, a tu-tu styled dress with flowers covering the top. She carried a kissing ball of yellow daises.
The best man for the ceremony was Dustin J. Dugas, the groom’s brother. The groomsmen were Matt LeBlanc, godfather of the groom; Jacob Primeaux, brother of the bride; Brandon Menard, cousin of the groom; and Beau Dugas, cousin of the groom.

The ring bearers for the ceremony were Joshua and Carter Perrin, sons of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Ricky Meaux, soloist; Nina Perrin, organist; and Trevor Legros, trumpeter. Readings were given by Linda Delcambre, godmother of the groom, and Sonia Kay, godmother of the bride. The ushers for the ceremony were Ray Luquette, cousin of the groom, and Zachary Giroud, cousin of the bride.

The mother of the bride was escorted by the bride’s stepfather, Brody Larette. She wore a scoop neck brown ruffled tea-length dress. The stepmother of the bride wore an eggplant Eliza Jay sleeveless necklace dress.

The mother of the groom was escorted by the groom, and followed by the groom’s father, Clint Dugas. The mother of the groom wore a two-piece champagne jacket dress.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Delcambre Shrimp Festival building. The couple are taking a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and will return to reside in Henry.
