Menard, Stelly married in Kaplan

Dawn Menard of Forked Island, Louisiana, and Jamie Stelly of Forked Island were united in matrimony at the V.F.F. Hall in Kaplan, Louisiana, on April 12, 2014. Sheb Callahan was the official for the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Menard, Sr. of Bell City, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dorville Menard of Cankton, Louisiana, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Castille of Church Point, Louisiana.

The groom is the son of Ms. Jeanette Stelly and the late Warren Stelly. He is the grandson of Mr. Hildrie Stelly and the late Lula Stelly of Forked Island and the late Mr. and Mrs. Amadic Noel of Forked Island.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a soft white feminine and flattering charmeuse gown with a sweep train. The sweetheart bodice had a structured side drape and an applique at the waistline. Her bouquet was a rustic bouquet that consisted of cream chrysanthemums and cattails with green hydrangeas complimented with airy greenery and her grandmother’s rosary. It was encased with burlap.

The maid of honor was Ashley Menard, sister of the bride. Kayla Johnson, a friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Michelle Ashbaugh, cousin of the bride; Jenny Bearb, niece of the groom, and Shae Stelly, daughter of the groom. Junior bridesmaids included Jon’Vea Stella, daughter of the groom and Allee Ashbaugh, godchild of the bride.

The bridesmaids wore a short Malibu sateen strapless dress. The junior bridesmaids wore a Malibu soft crinkle v-neck dress.

The flower girl for the ceremony was Addyson Stelly, the daughter of the bride and groom. She wore a soft, white satin tea-length gown with a stunning Malibu beaded satin sash.
All of the bride’s attendants wore western boots and carried a gerdera daisy bouquet.

The best mad for the ceremony was Carl Stelly, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Toby Stelly, brother of the groom; Terry “TJ” Menard Jr., brother of the bride; Hildrie “Jr.” Stelly, uncle of the groom; Sandrus “T-Moutte” Stelly, cousin of the groom; and Victor Stelly, godchild of the groom.

Music for the ceremony was provide by Ms. Kerrie Martio, Ms. Merila Ingram, and Mr. Jeff Cormier.

Brenda Simon, godmother of the bride, and Delores Trahan, godmother of the groom, gave the readings. The mother of the bride was escorted by Terry Menard Jr., brother of the bride. The mother of the groom was escorted by Toby Stelly, brother of the groom.

After the wedding, a reception was held at the V.F.F. Hall in Kaplan. The couple will reside in Forked Island.
