LeBeouf named President/CEO

Mr. Jude Duhon, Chairman of the Board and the Board of Directors of Abbeville Building & Loan announces the election of Mrs. Theresa S. LeBeouf as President/CEO and Director of the Savings Bank.

Mrs. LeBeouf has been with Abbeville Building & Loan for 40 years and is well-qualified to assume the position of President/CEO as during her 40 years at the Savings Bank she has worked in every position in the Savings Bank.

She assumed the position of Assistant Manager in 1993 while still holding the position of of Manager of the Savings Bank’s Lending Department. Since that time she has worked tirelessly to increase the volume of loans being serviced there. When she became Manager of the Lending Department, the Savings Bank was closing some $5.5 million in home loans a year. Through her hard work and determination to make the Savings Bank the premiere mortgage lender in the area, the Savings Bank is now closing $125 million in loans a year.

Mrs. LeBeouf has been a major part of a management team that has brought the Savings Banks from $33 million in assets in 1993 to over $57 million in 2013. Additionally, she was instrumental in bringing the mortgage loan servicing at the bank to over $398 million.

To the best of Abbeville Building & Loan’s knowledge, Mrs. LeBeouf is the first female in Vermilion Parish to be named President/CEO of a bank.

Mr. Noel A. Bajat, the past President/CEO of Abbeville Building & Loan retired at the end of 2013 and will remain on the Board of Directors, which consists of six members. In addition to Mr. Duhon, Mr. Bajat and Mrs. LeBeouf, other members of the board are Mr. Phillip Sellers, Mr. Kenneth Taylor and Mr. Glenn Lege.

Abbeville Building & Loan is in its 123rd year of operation, having been chartered on July 5, 1890. It is located at 1212 Charity Street in Abbeville.
