La. Farm Bureau’s 92nd Annual Convention
Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau Federation members recently attended the 92nd Annual La. Farm Bureau Convention in New Orleans, LA. In addition to Ronnie Anderson beginning his 26th term as La. Farm Bureau President, Linda Zaunbrecher a rice farmer from Gueydan, was reelected as third vice-president. Errol Domingues was elected to serve as the District VIII Director for a two year term and Christine Devenport was elected to serve as the District VIII Director for the Women’s Committee.
Vermilion Parish President, Errol Domingues accepted the Five Gold Star Award from La. Farm Bureau President Ronnie Anderson. Errol Domingues and Christine Devenport accepted the mini grant award of $500 from the Ag In The Classroom program which will be used to enhance the gardening project through the Vermilion 4-H program.
Anne Catherine LeBlanc competed in the Queen’s contest and the Talent contest and she placed in the top 10 in the Queen’s Contest. Anne Catherine is the daughter of Steven and Manique LeBlanc and a student at SLCC in Lafayette.
Austin Gaspard participated in the Talk Meet contest discussing how Farm Bureau should engage all farmers and rancher to work together to promote agriculture. Austin is the son of Marshall and Michelle Gaspard and a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
