Patriots easily take care of Westminster

The North Vermilion Patriots finally got off to a quick start and was easily able to hand Westminster Christian Acadamey a 64-40 loss.

The Patriots scored 34 points in the first half, thanks to 16 in the first quarter and 18 in the second.

The defense also held up well as it only allowed 21 points in the first half.

The third quarter has usually been the time when the Patriots turn things around and start to insert their dominance.

This third quarter was no different as the Patriots scored 23 points in the third quarter.

Mike Bessard and Nick Cooper, scored 16 of the teams 23 points in the third quarter.

With the Patriots, being up 57-36, headed into the fourth quarter, the offense slowed down and only scored seven points. The defense still held tough and only allowed four points in the fourth quarter.

Leading the way for the Patriots in scoring was Mike Bessard.

Bessard scored a team and game high 23 points. He scored 14 of his 23 points in the first half.

Not far behind Bessard was Nick Cooper who scored 15 points of his own.

Jawuan Windmon, Tre Levy and Jordan Windmon all got in on the scoring action by scoring nine, seven and six points respectively.

Dade Dieterich and Tyler Galley rounded out the scoring for the Patriots, as they each scored two points.

The Patriots’ record now stands at 11-4. The Patriots will be back on the court Friday as they travel to take on Lafayette Christian.
