Lady Wildcats prepare for West St. Mary

The Abbeville Lady Wildcats are riding high after ending their three game losing streak Wednesday night against Kaplan.

That was an important win for the Lady Wildcats for multiple reasons.

They were able to get back on track and end their three game losing streak, and more importantly they were able to get their first district win of the season.

Which according to head coach Dean Dronet is the most important thing.

“It was an important win,” Dronet said. “It got us back on track and we were able to win our first district game. We have to break down our season into three different parts. You have the pre-district schedule, then you have the district schedule and if you’re lucky
enough, you have the playoffs.

“We didn’t play the first part of the season as well as we would have liked, but we were playing some tough teams. We got off to a great start in district play, and we hope that we can continue that against West St. Mary.”

The Lady Wildcats record stands at 10-11 overall and 1-0 in district play.

Taking into account the difficult schedule Abbeville has faced they are ranked 28th in the most recent power rankings poll.

The game will be in West St. Mary and will start at 6:30.
