Broussard’s big game leads to big win

Tyson Broussard has been huge for the Kaplan Pirates all year long.

He is not only the leading rusher with over 800 yards on the season, but he also leads the team in carries with well over 100.

“I just make sure I stay in the gym,” running back Tyson Broussard said. “I do 100 pushups before I go to bed at night. I know I’m going to get the ball a lot and I want to make sure that I can be there for my team when they call my number.”

Not only is his work ethic outstanding but his humility. Before he said anything, he was giving credit to his offensive line.

“I couldn’t do anything with my o-line,” Broussard said. “No matter what I do it’s all because of them.”

Along with the work ethic of a pack mule, he also is humble for days, but its his skills on the field that get him noticed.

In the Kaplan/Mansfield game, it was Broussard that lead the Pirate charge with 206 yards on only 22 carries. He also scored twice in the 46-6 trouncing of Mansfield.

Broussard is the kind of player that wants to play football.

He wants to be out there every play doing everything he can to help his football team win.

If Kaplan is going to make a hard push to make it to the Super Dome it is going to be on the shoulders of Broussard that they do, and something says he is okay with that.
