Haik and Lemoine tie the knot

Eugenie Mixon Haik and John Blake Lemoine were united in marriage during a ceremony held on Friday, December 30, 2011, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The Rev. John “Buddy” Breaux officiated at the 7:00 p.m. nuptial mass.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Michael Haik Jr., of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Robert Neil Lemoine, of Lafayette, and Melanie Vedrine Lemoine, of Arnaudville.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore her mother’s wedding gown. The formal-length gown of white chiffon featured an empire A-line silhouette. The gown was accented with Venise lace flowers etched with seed pearls and pearlized sequins overlaid the fitted bodice as scalloped lace complemented the Queen Ann neckline. Long, sheer tapered sleeves featured cuffs of Venise lace flowers sprayed with pearls and sequins and scalloped lace. Self fabric buttons enhanced the look. The bride wore a Camelot headpiece of Venise lace sprayed with seed pearls. To complete her look, she carried a clutch bouquet of Vendella roses with beige plume feathers and ivory-colored ribbon.

Serving as matron of honor was Johnnah Haik Theriot, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Leah Michelle Lemoine, sister of the groom, Karly Champagne Haik, sister-in-law of the bride, Katherine Simoneaud Leblanc, cousin of the bride, Melanie Ann Hammon, and Mariesa Lee Barbara.

They each carried a clutch bouquet of ivory-colored and Sahara roses with taupe ribbon.

Serving as flower girls were Macey Marie Theriot and Georgia Grace Theriot, nieces of the bride. Ring bearers were Houston Ryan Theriot and Morris Michael Haik IV, nephews of the bride.

Serving as best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were Seth Michael Lemoine, brother of the groom, Morris “Michael” Haik III, brother of the bride, Ryan Stewart Theriot, brother-in-law of the bride, Benjamin Lawrence Hays, and Daniel Stephen Harris.

Ushers were David Etie and Donald Trahan, cousins of the bride, and Adam Hargroder and Tobin Lemoine, cousins of the groom.

A reception for family and friends was held at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in Jefferson Island.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in New Iberia.
