Durand, Robin tie the knot

Stephanie Juanita Durand of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Scott Robin of Baton Rouge were joined together in marriage on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Deacon J. Douglas Melancon served as the official for the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Durand of St. Martinville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Durand, Sr. of St. Martinville, and the Late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Gauthier of St. Martinville.

The groom is the son of Mr. Murphy Robin, Jr. and Ms. Susan Robin of Abbeville, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Mrs. Cecile Richard and the Late Mr. Duras Richard of Abbeville, and Mr. Murphy Robin, Sr. of Arnaudville, Louisiana and Ms. Rose Duhon of Abbeville.

Serving as organist for the ceremony was Pat Melancon.

The bride wore a full-length, ivory lace gown with a V-shaped neckline and cap sleeves. For the traditional something old and something blue, an heirloom, monogrammed in blue, linen napkin embroidered by her great grandmother, Edith B. Gauthier, was sown to the inside of her dress. Her veil was something borrowed from matron of honor Dr. Allison Poimboeuf Ferrara, cousin of the bride. Serving as junior bridesmaid was Abbey Broussard, niece of the groom. The flower girls were Ellie Durand, niece of the bride, and Alexis Cobb, niece of the groom.

The best man was Gerrod Brasseux, friend of the groom. Junior groomsman for the ceremony was Luke Durand, nephew of the bride.

A reception immediately followed the private ceremony. It was held at Maison De Tours in St. Martinville. Afterward, the couple took a wedding trip to Northern California. Upon their return, they will reside in Baton Rouge.

The bride is a graduate of St. Martinville Senior High in St. Martinville. She graduated in 1998. She then earned her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from LSU in 2002. She followed it up with a Master's Degree in Public Administration from LSU in 2004. She is currently employed at the Louisiana House of Representatives in Baton Rouge.

The groom graduated from Abbeville High School in Abbeville in 1991. He is currently employed at Maddox and Associates in Baton Rouge. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from LSU in 1996.
