Delhi FBLA students take part in leadership conference
Delhi High School business students attended the Future Business Leaders of America District II Leadership Conference at the ULM on Feb. 12.
The conference’s theme was “Journey to the Edge of Greatness.” Students from 23 north Louisiana parishes competed in various business subjects.
The following DHS students placed Excellent: Martika Francis—FBLA Principles & Procedures, Adora Harrison—Computer Applications, Kendra Jones—Accounting I, Kenneth Killian—Cyber Security, Shaletta McDade—Word Processing II, and Jasmine Stigarll—Economics.
Students placing Superior and eligible for State competition are: Veronica Culverson—Word Processing II, David Jordan—Word Processing I, Aaron Steed—Computer Applications, and Jasmine Stigarll—Cyber Security.
The conference was very challenging as well as fun according to FBLA Adviser, Barbara Turner. “The leadership conference inspired me to become a better student at DHS, so I can go to college and do well, said Adora Harrison. “The conference was exciting and fun, and I can’t wait to go to Baton Rouge to compete, said Aaron Steed.
All of the Superior winners are thrilled and look forward to attending the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Baton Rouge, LA on March 22-24, 2009. DHS faculty and staff are very proud of the students’ and their accomplishments.
“I love it when our students compete with students at other schools; I believe it is truly a measure of success,” said Turner.
