October is National Respect for Life Month

Abbeville Reverence for Life and friends of this group gathered with Abbeville Mayor Mark Piazza for the annual gathering on the courthouse steps. October marks Respect for Life Month throughout all the dioceses of the United States by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The group gathers in support of the dignity of human life from natural conception to natural death and in opposition to the many laws with regard to these life issues. This year’s theme is “Open Your Hearts to Life!” The group works with other groups, such as The Desormeaux Foundation and The Women’s Center in Lafayette, and the Priests for Life to support life-affirming solutions in crisis situatioins.
