Community Leaders give thanks

GUEYDAN - The First Baptist Church of Gueydan provided the setting Tuesday, November 26 for a warm welcome given to church leaders from Reverend Troy Duhon in celebration of the Community Thanksgiving Service.
During the Thanksgiving Service scripture readings and messages of thanks was given by Deacon Ellis Rice of St. Matthew Church, Pastor Joseph Boutte of Gueydan International Church and Father Corey Campeaux of St. Peter Catholic Church. Reverend LaMarylis Cotten attended the event and also read a scripture verse and gave her own Thanksgiving message.
An evening of thanks would not be complete without music, and on this occasion, beautiful hymns were preformed by the Praise Team and a solo song by Caroll Cotten.
No matter what religion everyone attending left with an overwhelming feeling of being blessed by each church leader.
At the end of the service, folks were blessed and asked to choose a loaf of bread that each person had placed before the alter, bring it home and say a special prayer for the family that brought the loaf.
