Abbeville Police police arrest 18-year-old Deonzae Lee in connection to Thursday's shooting

On the night of Thursday, Feb. 9, at 10:27 p.m., the Abbeville Police Department responded to a shooting which took place at a residence near the intersection of South Lamar and Maude Avenue.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a subject who was found to be the victim with gunshot wounds to the abdomen area. The victim was transported to Abbeville General Hospital where he underwent surgery for his wounds.

The victim is listed in stable condition in the ICU unit.

The police department continued its investigation which led to the arrest of Deonzae Lee, 18, of Abbeville. Deonzae Lee was booked on a warrant for the charge of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The bond on the warrant was set at $250,000.00 by judge Richard Putnam. Deonzae Lee was then transported to Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office for incarceration.
