Shanie Verret - Brendan Cloonan announce engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Verret of Abbeville, La. are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Dr. Shanie Elizabeth Verret to Dr. Brendan Stack Cloonan, son of Mrs. Michelle S. Cloonan and the late John Cloonan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester J. David of Abbeville, La., the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hernandez, Jr. of Kaplan, La. and the late Jack Verret of Morgan City, La.
Shanie is a graduate of Kaplan High School, Kaplan, La. She completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the College of Science. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La. She is currently serving as the Chief of Staff and is an associate veterinarian at Avalon Veterinary Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stack of Pittsburgh, Pa. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cloonan of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Brendan is a graduate of Central Catholic High School of Pittsburgh and then went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Biology at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa. He achieved his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University.
He completed a small animal internship at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center where he accepted a position and is currently working as an associate veterinarian in the Emergency Department.
A Catholic wedding ceremony will be held on April 21, 2017 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Brighton Heights, Pittsburgh, Pa. with the reception being held at Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at the Priory.
