The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Broussard of Abbeville. Her mother is the former Gwen Huval. Leah is the granddaughter of Mrs. Elda Trahan Huval of Abbeville and the late Daniel Wade Huval, and Mr. and Mrs. John Huey Broussard of Abbeville.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, selected a beautiful gown designed by Eddy K. The mermaid silhouette gown was made of ivory Italian lace appliques cascaded on tulle featuring a bateau neckline and cap sleeves. The back neckline featured a v-neck with eight buttons. The cathedral length train featured a scalloped hem of ivory Italian lace appliqués on tulle. The bride chose a fully beaded pearl and crystal belt to complete her gown. To complete her ensemble, Leah wore an elegant cathedral length veil. It was complemented by an elbow length blusher.
Meaningful details included by the bride in her bridal bouquet included a picture of her grandfather Daniel Wade Huval in a locket. As her something old, she used her great-grandmother Noela Trahan’s rosary, along with a crucifix from her cousin Brock Wade Huval. She borrowed one of her mother’s flowers from her wedding bouquet to complement her bouquet of white akito roses, Vivian spray roses, white hydrangeas, baby’s breath, and lemon leaves accented with green foliage.
Britney and Annemarie Broussard, sisters of the bride, Allen B. McLain Jr. and Christopher “Ryan” McLain, brothers of the groom, served as witnesses to the couples vows.
Ushers included Jared, Nicholas, Marcus, and Christopher Broussard, brothers of the bride. John, the witnesses, and ushers wore classic black formal tuxedoes.
The mother of the bride wore a trumpet/mermaid gown in navy blue taffeta fabric. The bodice featured a V-neckline and V-back of navy lace on tulle with a nude undertone featuring a peplum at the waist and cap sleeves.
The mother of the groom wore a black off the shoulder, scalloped lace top featuring a satin ribbon tie which accented a long jersey shutter skirt.
Readers for the ceremony were Patricia M. Redifer and Julie M. Ward, sisters of the groom. Elizabeth M. LeBouef and Michelle M. Whitney, sisters of the groom, served as gift bearers.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Miss Laura Couvillon, vocalist, Tommy Guidry, organist, and Jared Gary, trumpeter.
Following the wedding nuptials, a reception was held at Vermilion Oaks which was beautifully decorated with elevated ferns and arrangements of florals in an array of white akito roses, Vivian spray roses, white hydrangeas, pink Mondial roses, white larkspur, white stock, ruscus, asparagus fern, pittosporum, leather leaf, sword fern and nandina.
The three tiered French vanilla wedding cake featured pecan praline, bavarian cream and cream cheese fillings and was accented with fresh flowers the bride selected for her wedding.
A rehearsal dinner was held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 hosted by the groom’s parents, Allen and Laura McLain at their home.
Following their return from a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Abbeville, Louisiana.
