Miss Caki Russo becomes Mrs. William Burch

A candlelight ceremony in the historic St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church was the backdrop for the wedding of Mary-Catherine Adele “Caki” Russo of Abbeville, LA and William Howard Burch of Lafayette, LA. Father Louis Richard joined the loving couple in holy matrimony on November 21, 2015.

Joyce Hebert Russo and the late Robert E Russo, Sr. are the parents of the bride’s father and are from Abbeville, LA.
The bridegroom, William Burch, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard “Bubba” Burch of Lafayette, LA. The mother of the groom is the former Karen Mann of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and is the daughter of Marge Hatton Mann and the late Col Frank W. Mann, USAF Retired. Dr. and Mrs. H. B. Burch of Lafayette, LA are the paternal grandparents of the groom.

Escorted by her son, Robert Russo, the mother of the bride wore an elegant two-piece ensemble of hand-woven Thai silk that was a beautiful deep rose hue that was long-fitted and dramatically flared. William Burch, the groom, escorted his mother down the aisle. Mothers and Grandmothers carried a small tussie mussie with neutral blooms of ivory spray roses, mums, and traditional roses hand tied with ivory ribbon.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father wearing an elegant Grace-mikado silk gown featuring a sophisticated bateau neckline and Sabrina-styled bodice. The finishing touches of squared armholes, dome-cut flared skirt, with hand covered buttons down the back ending at the train. A cathedral length veil edged with lace and monogrammed with her initials, was the beautiful finishing touch. Meaningful details incorporated by the bride included her grandmother’s pearl and diamond earrings as her something old; a gift of a pearl bracelet from her parents as something new; and something blue was her great-grandmother’s exquisite handkerchief from Italy. A sixpence in her shoe was a childhood gift from her godmother that was a memento from a trip to England. The bride carried a whimsical bouquet of Pepper Berry, Baby Artichoke, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Cotinus, Spray Roses, Purple Amaranthus, Dahlias, Garden Roses, Ranunculus, Privet, and Amnesia Roses. For a final personal touch, the bouquet was wrapped with ivory hanging ribbon along with Milagros handpicked by the mother of the bride as well as photo charms in memory of loved ones.
Matron of honor was Syndey Broussard Williamson and Bridesmaids were Hailey Vincent, Brittany Stover, Rachel Segrest, Madeline Guidry, Elizabeth LeBouef, and Hannah Theriot, who are all friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore full length, taffeta dresses in garnet featuring a bow at the neck and belted at the natural waistline with a full, shirred skirt which included pockets at the side seams and box pleating around the waist. To compliment the elegant garnet gowns, bridesmaids carried a whimsical bouquet similar to the bride’s composed of the same type flowers in more muted tones. In keeping with the bridal bouquet, the bridesmaids’ bouquets were wrapped with raisin colored hanging ribbon along with Milagros handpicked by the mother of the bride. The bridesmaids and flower girls wore sterling silver bracelets, designed by Richard Schmidt, a gift from the bride.
Flower girls were Embry and Aria Russo, cousins of the bride. They carried a small floral wreath, and flower crowns adorned their hair. Kate Johnson, cousin of the groom, presented programs to arriving guests.
The father of the groom, Howard “Bubba” Burch, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Russo, brother of the bride, Daniel Bratton, Rourke Feerick, Christopher Breaux, Craig Guidry, and Bailey Kidd who are all friends of the groom. Serving as ushers were Todd Prudhomme and Bennett Guidry, both friends of the groom.
