Miss Alie Simon becomes Mrs. Gavin Broussard

Miss Alie Marie Simon and Mr. Gavin Broussard, both of Fort Collins, CO, became man and wife on Friday, April 10, 2015 a St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, La.
Father Gayle Nunez officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Deana Simon of Erath, La. and Burt Simon of Nunez, La. Grandparents are Lee and Vella Mae Bernard and Roger and Sabra Simon, all of Erath.
Parents of the groom are Ricky and Tammy Broussard of Erath, La. Grandparents are Hamilton and Leona Mitchell of Delcambre, La., and Sterling and Diane Broussard, of Erath.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry. Readings were given by Jill Bernard, godmother of the bride and Jodi Domingues, godmother of the groom. Offertory gifts were brought up by Chucky Simon, godfather of the bride, and Shane Broussard, uncle of the groom.
Ushers were Eric LeBlanc and Garrett Thomas, friends of the groom.
The mother of the bride was escorted by her sons, kallen and Ross Simon.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a slim A-line gown in light gold. This timeless dress featured a delicate, sweetheart neckline embellished with gorgeous beaded lace motifs dancing across tulle. Adding to the romantic feel of the gown is a semi-cathedral train finished with a lace scalloped hem. The bride’s ensemble was completed by a custom headpiece designed by A-Net’s Bridal Boutique. The piece featured an array of crystals, champagne ribbons, lace from the bride’s gown and mother’s veil and finally, her great-grandmother’s antique brooch in the center, was her something old. This piece was truly one of a kind.
The bride carried a round nosegay of charming unique roses from Ecuador, cream peonies and ranunculas tied together with lace from her mother’s wedding veil. Looped into the bouquet was a strand of pearls from her future mother-in-law, was her something borrowed.
Matron of honor was Courtney Simon, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids included Chesie Vargas, cousin of the bride; Ashlee Broussard, sister-in-law of the groom; Christine Ledet, Mary Oster, Mieka Landry, and Martina Mayer, all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Kennedi Simon, godchild of the bride. Flower girl was Camille Simon, niece of the bride and Cami Lee Vargas, godchild of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore a floor length crinkle chiffon, one shoulder gown featuring a front and back key hole. Complementing the bridesmaids, the junior bridesmaids wore crinkle chiffon dress with a sweetheart neckline and shirred skirt. The flower girls were dressed in ivory and light champagne tulle skirt with lace corset tops.
The bridesmaids and flower girls bouquets were a smaller version similar to the bridal bouquet.
Nicholas Comeaux, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Gannon Broussard, and Brandon Broussard, both brothers of the groom; Ross and Kallen Simon, brothers of the bride; Quinten Blanchette, Philip Domingues, and Seth Comeaux, all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was William Simon, nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Magdalen Place in Abbeville.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Fort Collins, CO.
A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at Rip Van Winkle Garden on Thursday night.
