Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kent LeMaire

Jeanne Herpin - Kent LeMaire united in marriage

Miss Jeanne Lynn Herpin and Mr. Joseph Kent LeMaire, both of Kaplan, were united in marriage on June 11, 2016, during a 3 p.m. ceremony, at Melange, a private camp off of Hwy 167 in Abbeville, Louisiana.
The ceremony was held outdoors, under beautiful oak trees with the seating area composed of stained wood over hay bales as benches. Justice of the Peace Johnny Choate presided over the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Thomas L. Herpin and his wife Shelia Richard Herpin of Kaplan, Louisiana, and Mrs. Freida Krmenec and her husband John Krmenec of Valdosta, Georgia. Her grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Walton Herpin of Kaplan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mathews of Crowley. She is a graduate of Kaplan High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She is employed by Louisiana Safety Systems, Inc. in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail LeMaire of Kaplan, Louisiana. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Trahan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kerney LeMaire all of Kaplan. He is a graduate of Kaplan High School and is employed by Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strikingly beautiful Maggie Sottero ivory sheath gown featuring sequin embellishment and embroidered lace over a separate Valentina light gold slip dress complete with dramatic illusion neckline and back treatment, finished with covered button over zipper closure.
She wore her hair up completing the look with a beautiful cream rose with crystal accents on the side. She carried a red rose bouquet with baby’s breath, wrapped with her grandmother’s handkerchief, along with a picture of her late brother Thomas L. Herpin, II.
The maid of honor, Triscia Touchet, friend of the bride, of Kaplan and matron of honor was Dora Herpin Carr, sister of the bride, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
They wore knee length modern asymmetrical dresses with a one-shoulder neckline, apple in color, completed by boots adhering to the western wedding theme. They carried a cream colored rose bouquet wrapped in burlap and lace.
The groom wore a champagne vest with a white shirt and blue jeans, completed with a cowboy hat and boots. Best Man was Gail LeMaire, father of the groom, and Doyle LeMaire, brother of the groom. The groomsmen wore chocolate vest with a white shirt and blue jeans, also completed with a cowboy hat and boots. Ushers included Lane LeMaire and Ty LeMaire, sons of the groom.
The flower girl, Ayden Harley Herpin, niece of the bride, of Valdosta, Ga., wore a cream knee length dress with gold accents and boots and a red rose headpiece. She carried a red rose ball bouquet. The ring bearer, Dax Lane Broussard, godchild of the bride, of Kaplan, wore a chocolate vest with jeans, boots and a cowboy hat. He carried a burlap and lace pillow. The groom’s granddaughter, Sophia LeBlanc was pulled in a red wagon by her father, Rocky LeBlanc, son-in-law of the groom, with a burlap sign on the back of the wagon stating “Here Comes the Bride”.
Readers for the ceremony were Sharon Herpin, sister-in-law of the bride, Meghan LeBlanc and Haley LeMaire, daughters of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Vermilion Fair & Festival Building in Kaplan, with a rustic burlap and lace theme decoration.
Upon returning from their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Kaplan, Louisiana.
