Garden club members study Latin plant names
The Abbeville Garden Club met on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the home of Theresa Broussard for their regular monthly meeting.
Co-hostesses for the event were Marietta Clark and Patsy Hebert.
The Program was “Understanding Latin Plant Names”.
Guest speaker was Lauren Daspit, a Lafayette Parish Master Gardener and Abbeville Garden Club member. Lauren’s lecture and presentation centered on how to identify plants from their Latin names. Each member received a wonderful handout with information that will definitely be of help when identifying plants and flowers for gardening and landscaping.
The Abbeville Garden Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Region, and Louisiana Garden Club Federation, District III.
