Patriots prepare for Pios

The game being postponed on Tuesday may have been a blessing for the North Vermilion Patriots.

After an incident that took place on Saturday night, the Patriots are having to reshape their starting lineup.

“We understand that different players are going to have to step up in different roles,” Patriots Head Coach Jack LeBlanc said. “Our guys are talented enough and mentally tough enough to respond to that. These guys understand they are going to have to play a
bigger role.

“We have a tough game against Notre Dame, and it’s going to be a battle. Not only Friday night, but every game from this point on, if we want to win district.”

The Patriots are facing off against Notre Dame tonight in Crowley.

The Pios are sporting a record of 8-11 overall and 1-1 in district.

The Patriots are sitting on top of district 6-3A with a 13-5 record overall and 2-0 in district play.

NV also sits in the 11th spot in the power rankings.

For the Patriots to not see a slack in winning they are going to need to see some players like Jordan and Jawuan Windmon, Donald Comeaux and freshmen Blake Turner to step up and perform.

Game time is set to begin right after the Lady Patritos and Lady Pios game is concluded.

Speaking of the Lady Patriots, if they are wanting to get back in the playoff race, a win against the fifth ranked Lady Pios would go a long way.

The Lady Pios are ranked fifth in power rankings and own a 17-4 overall record and a 3-0 in district play.

The Lady Pats still sit in the 34th spot in the power rankings, only two spots out of a playoff berth.
