Lady Bobcats win last game
The Erath Lady Bobcats can only hope and wait at this point.
After they were able to defeat the Kaplan Lady Pirates by the final score of 42-26, there is nothing more they can do.
“The girls worked hard all week, after that Monday night game,” Lady Bobcats Head Coach Andrea Bernard said. “They knew they had to do some changing, and they earned it tonight.”
Friday was the last game of the regular season for both teams, and with the Lady Bobcats ranked 30th in the current power rankings, they are on the bubble to make the playoffs.
“We are pretty confident that we will get in,” Bernard said. “As it stands there is a chance we will get to play Notre Dame again. So, at this point we can only wait and see.”
The brackets will be officially announced on Monday.
So the Lady Bobcats only have to wait until then to see where they will be playing in the first round of the State Championship Playoffs.
As for the game itself, the Lady Bobcats took control of the game early on and never looked back.
In the first quarter alone, the Lady Bobcats racked up an 11 point lead, and the Lady Pirates never got any closer.
The seniors: Ashley Dubois, Jasmine LeJeune, Sydney Richardelle, Alexis Harrington, Alexa Faulk and Caitlin Domingues for Erath really stepped up in Friday nights game.
The seniors accounted for 36 of the Lady Bobcats 42 points on the night.
“They (seniors) showed up big again tonight,” Bernard said. “Ashley Dubois really showed up tonight. Her energy was really noticeable tonight.”
