Honey Bears get much needed win

The regular season has almost come to an end for the Gueydan Honey Bears, and considering they have lost three of their last four basketball games heading into Monday night’s game against Lafayette Christian, the Honey Bears really needed a
victory to help secure their spot in the playoffs.

The Honey Bears got exactly what they needed in a 45-23 victory over Lafayette Christian.

Leading the way for the Honey Bears in scoring was T’nia Leger.

Leger scored a team and game high 16 points. She scored six of her 16 in the Honey Bear’s big third quarter.

Nya Boudreaux and Kylie Crochet were each able to help the Honey Bears by adding eight points apiece.

Kiara Chalres and Cheridan Guidry were each able to get in on the scoring by adding four points each.

Ashari Terry added three points on the night, all of which came from the free throw line.

Cheyenne LaComb rounded out the scoring for the Honey Bears by scoring her two points in the fourth quarter.

According to the most recent power rankings, the Honey Bears are currently sitting in the 27th spot.

As mentioned before, the Honey Bears only have two games left on the schedule before the regular season comes to an end.

According to head Coach Randall Bertrand, the game against Hanson Tuesday night, is a “Big Big game.”

It is a big game because Hanson is ranked 19th in the power rankings, and a win over Hanson would go a long way for the Honey Bears.

The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. tonight at Hanson.

The Honey Bears will finish their regular season Friday night at home against Ascension Episcopal.
