Abbeville 29er’s drop opener in American Legion play

What started out as a promising night at Ralph Sellers Park turned into a high scoring affair that found the 29er’s with only themselves to blame.
The Crowley Miller’s beat the Abbeville Gulf Coast Bank 29er’s 14-10 after a wild game that saw the losing team commit nine errors.
Abbeville Coach Darin Desormeaux did praise his pitchers saying, “Our young pitchers Tanner Fee and Bryce Landry did a great job throwing strikes and not giving up many walks.”
The errors seemed to be his main concern. “I feel we will fix the errors. “Weather conditions, not being able to practice and fielding a new team, these errors will get corrected.”
The offense wasn’t the problem as Abbeville was on base all night. “10 runs on 15 hits; We should win some games.”
Seth Patin and Brett Delcambre started the game with back to back doubles while Ty Desormeaux and Dylan Duhon had three hits a piece. In the end however, the errors proved to be too much to overcome.
The team looked to bounce back against the cross town rival Abbeville Eagles Wednesday night but the game was not complete by press time.
