Shane Warren Nunez

ABBEVILLE — Graveside services will be held for Shane Warren Nunez, 60, at 2:00PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Paul Cemetery of Abbeville. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of Service. Interment will follow services.
Shane Warren Nunez passed away at his home on his family’s farm in Erath, La. on July 4, 2014 at age 60 years old. Funeral services will be observed at David’s Funeral Home in Abbeville, La.
Mr. Nunez was the retired owner-operator of S and J Nunez Trucking and a rancher. He was an avid horseman, especially fond in his youth of his horses Nanny and Silver Flash, both gifts of his beloved grandfather. He loved the travel of the trucking business, dinners of potato stew with rice and sausage and spending time with his grandchildren. He was born in Cameron Parish, La. in 1954. He attended Mount Carmel Elementary, Eaton Park Elementary and Abbeville High. He then went on to work for his step-father’s company Massey Welding Service before entering the trucking business.
Mr. Nunez is survived by his wife Janet Hensley Nunez, his children Felicia Nunez, Brent Shane Nunez, Maggie L. Boudoin and John Brooks, his mother Leola Marie Chauvin, step mother Verna Boudreaux Nunez, siblings Kent Nunez, Troi Nunez Reppart, Wm. Jason Massey, Michael Juan Nunez, Robin Massey, siblings Fred Simon, Cynthia Simon Noble, Jena Simon Dauphin, a total of 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his godfather Daniel James Nunez.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Davis Warren Nunez, his grandparents Felicien Nunez, Marie Esmee Delcambre, Otto Marcel Chauvin and Elda Saltzman, and step fathers William J. Massey and Dr. Ben Lahasky.
