Robert J. “Bobby” “Zeek” Leblanc

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Robert Joseph LeBlanc, age 75, at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant. Jenny Dubois will serve as reader. Bobby’s grandchildren and great grandchild will bring up the gifts. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Monday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until services.
Robert, known by family, friends and co-workers as “Bobby” and “Zeek”, was born August 21, 1938 in Vermilion Parish to the late Henry U. LeBlanc and Mable Falgout LeBlanc. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital.
Bobby was a veteran of the Unites States Army. He worked his entire career in the oilfield and retired after 36 years loyal service from ODECO (now Diamond Offshore). Bobby enjoyed trips to the casino, and had a love for camping and was a member of the Bayou Carlin Sams Camping Club. He was also an avid sports fan of UL, LSU and the Saints. His greatest joy was his family. Bobby absolutely adored spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchild, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his second great grandchild. He leaves behind many fond memories that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie L. Viator (Barney), Susan L. Lombas (Charlie), Laura L. Clement (Jamey); his grandchildren, Brittany V. Duhon (Neil), Kailyn Viator, Taylor Viator, Kaci Lombas, Lexi Lombas, Alyssa Clement, and Kyla Clement; a great granddaughter, Brynli Grace Duhon; and one great grandchild expected; and his sister, Helen Gail Sagrera.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Broussard LeBlanc; his granddaughter, Kalli Nicole Clement; and brother, Neil LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Barney and Taylor Viator, Jamey Clement, Charlie Weber, Ben Lombas and Neil Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy, Josh, and Buddy Clark, as well as Tipper Esponge, Alec Toups, and Carol Broussard.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the directors and staff of Concepts of Care in Abbeville for their care and compassion given to Bobby.
