Raymond Joseph Gerard

ABBEVILLE—Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Raymond Joseph Gerard, 79, who died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He was laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon William "Billy" Vincent officiating the services. Pallbearers were his grandsons.
A lifelong resident of Abbeville he spent his life enjoyong time with his family, fishing, gardening and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy; daughter, Vicki Guidry and her husband PJ of Oklahoma City; two sons, William (Bill) and his wife, Jennifer of Abbeville and Brian and his wife, Terrell of The Woodlands, TX; one brother, Newby Gerard and his wife, Linda of Youngsville, LA; sister-n-law, Judy Aselton; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Raymond; grandson, Richard; parents, Romeal Gerard and the former Ola Broussard; brothers, Irby Gerard and his wife, Marilyn and Newton Gerard.
