DELCAMBRE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Myrtle Marie Comeaux 93, the former Myrtle Marie Minnick at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre, LA, with Fr. Nathan Comeaux, celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Mausoleum in Delcambre, LA.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the church until the time of service with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 A.M.
A native of Abbeville, LA, a resident of Delcambre, LA for over 60 years, and recently a resident of New Iberia, LA, she passed at 10:51 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at her daughter’s residence.
She was a member of the Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Delcambre, LA., a former member of St. Joseph’s Society. She was former owner of Westside Drive Inn in Delcambre, LA. for approximately 5 years. She was a Foster Parent of four siblings who cherished her dearly. She was known for her infamous cooking of various seafood dishes, pork jambalaya, gumbos, baking homemade sweet dough tarts, homemade ice cream, etc. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, garage sales, trail rides, and had a passion for bingo, playing cards and casinos.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Billy D. Comeaux Sr. (Lucille) of Abbeville, LA., two daughters, Lola C. Ezulike (John) of Broussard, LA., and Sally C. Johnson (Roy) of New Iberia, LA., one sister, Rose M. Roberts of Houston, TX., three brothers, Melvin Minnick of Houston, TX., John Minnick, Jr. and Alvin Minnick, Sr. both of Abbeville, LA., ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces. Nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton J. Comeaux, her parents, John Minnick, Sr. and Amy Levy Minnick, one brother, Murphy Minnick, three sisters, Audrey M. Duffy, Lorena M. Faine, and Marjorie M. Thomas, and two godchildren, Mary Alice Perrodin and Lucien Peters.
Active Pallbearers will be Troy Nezey, Kerris Balthazar, Alvin Minnick,Jr., David Malveaux, Willis Duffy, Jr. and Alfred Minnick.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Comeaux, Sr., Roy Johnson, Melvin Minnick, John Minnick Jr., Alvin Minnick Sr., Shaunathan Thibeaux, William Christopher Ballard, Billy Comeaux Jr., Dwayne Jolivet, Alvin Edmond III, Roland Derouen, Nathan Derouen, Felton Derouen, Harris Comeaux Jr., Rev. Claude Comeaux Jr., Andre Duffy, Michael Duffy, Albert Roy, Curley Reaux, Jr., and John Thibeaux.
