Gladys Marie Meaux

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00am on Monday January 16, 2017, at St. Therese Catholic Church honoring the life of Gladys Marie Meaux, 90, who died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side. She was laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services.
Gladys was born November 3, 1926 , to Eulgere and Pauline Foreman Meaux.
A lifelong resident of Abbeville, she worked for Dr. Perry Sudduth for twenty years and many years at Bourque’s Grocery. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Therese Catholic Church and Woodmen of the World.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to everyone, she will truly be missed greatly by all!
With a servant’s heart, she worked hard and helped people whenever and wherever she could. Her favorite things to do was cooking and spending time with family and friends, the more the better.
She is survived by her husband, Dudley J. Meaux; son, Warren Meaux and his wife Angie; daughter, Debra Meaux LeBlanc; ten grandchildren, Hazel Meaux of Orlando, FL, Katherine Meaux of Orlando, FL, Pauline LeBlanc of Abbeville, Jennifer LeBlanc of Abbeville, Lacey LeBlanc of Abbeville, Amanda LeBlanc of Abbeville, Tabitha Bourque and husband Shawn, Joshua Chreene, Caleb Chreene and Elijah Chreene and his wife Brittany; and thirteen great grandchildren, Brittlyn Brown, Tyrik Brown, Donisha LeBlanc, Aniah LeBlanc, Devin Meaux, Anthony Chreene, Gavin Bourque, Kadence Bourque, MaKayla Bourque, Brayden Bourque, Aubrey Bourque, Aaron Chreene and Jacob Chreene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulgere Meaux and the former Pauline Foreman; and sisters, Agnes Dyson and Anna Lou Bourque.
