Elaine Segura Comeaux

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Elaine Segura Comeaux, age 82, at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Friday from 8:00 am until the time of services.
Readers will be Drucie Boudreaux and Starr Price.
Elaine was born March 22, 1934 to the late Dewey Segura and the late Euphemie Desormeaux, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Mrs. Elaine, known by family and friends as Sue, was a homemaker and wife who enjoyed looking after her children and grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She also loved cooking and baking and was known for her famous pecan cake. Her door was open to everyone in the morning as people would stop in for a cup of coffee and a visit. And when Mrs. Elaine was not tending to family and friends, she spent time relaxing by taking care of her yard.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her and she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband, Earless J. Comeaux; children, Darla LeBlanc and husband Kenneth of Maurice, Wendy Comeaux of Delcambre, Todd Comeaux and wife Edi “Missy” of Carencro, Marty Comeaux and wife Haroldlyn of Abbeville, Faron Comeaux and wife Tina of Erath, Owen Comeaux and wife Meera of Georgia and Blake Comeaux and wife Christy of Delcambre; fourteen grandchildren, Eric, Cassie, Marta, Marcus, Jamie, Linzy, Trey, Kaylyn, Patience, Dharshan, Maya, Brock, Gage, and Alena; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Jace; and her sisters and brother, Irene S. LaSalle, Lorraine S. Duhon and Dulies Segura.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and her brother, Agnes “Toot” Duplantis, Nilda “Nin” Duplantis, and Lefraye J. Segura.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Comeaux, Eric LeBlanc, Nick Ryder, Brennan Comeaux, Junius Renard and Kim Duplantis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Del Campbell and Steven Duplantis.
