KAPLAN — Samantha Babineaux and Nathaniel Trahan were arrested by Kaplan Police for the beating of Babineaux's four-year-old son.
The child has died because of his injuries.

Thanks to the help of local citizens who came forward with information, a Kaplan man was arrested for attempted armed robbery.

A blue Buick Century driven by a New Iberia woman was hit from behind by a another vehicle, causing her to veer into the other lane, and hit the white GMC truck. The driver of the Buick was killed. The accident occurred in front of Kaplan High School.
