Mrs. Inez Lachaussie Landry

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Inez Lachaussie Landry, age 91, at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the celebrant. Musical selections will be sung by Jodi Bollich. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, with the rosary being recited at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Landry passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at her residence, with her family at her side.

Mrs. Inez was retired from the Iberia Parish School Board with 20 years of service as the cafeteria manager at Pesson Elementary. She was very active in many different organizations throughout the years. Clubs that she was a member with include, The Red Hat Society, Coffee Club, The St. Anne Altar Society at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and the Catholic Daughters of America. Mrs. Inez also enjoyed water aerobics, camping and traveling, and was blessed with many memorable vacations and trips throughout the United States. But her greatest joy was the love she had for her family. She leaves behind many fond memories and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Charles Wayne Landry of New Iberia, Earl Landry, Jr. and wife Billie of Erath, Rene Landry, Sr. and wife, Ivy of New Iberia, and Mary Comeaux and husband Mark of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren, Pierre Landry, Rhonda Schmitt, Monique Robinson, Gabriella Landry, Charmaine Delcambre, Cherdell Duhon, Vance Landry, Jeri Thennisson, Jacob Landry, Sonia Devillier, Rene Landry, Jr., Dustin Landry, Rory Lopez, Keisha LeBlanc, Freddie Comeaux, Brandy Duplantis and Treg Comeaux; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her brother, Jimmy Lachaussie and wife Marlene of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Landry, Sr.; her son and grandson, Fernand Keith Landry, Sr. and Fernand Keith Landry, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Patsy Landry; and her parents, Rene and Eula Thibodeaux Lachaussie.

Pallbearers will be Pierre, Vance, Jacob, Rene and Dustin Landry, Rory Lopez and Tyson Delcambre.
