Vermilion Parish woman dies in accident on Basin bridge

A Vermilion Parish woman was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday morning on I-10 over the Atchaflaya Basin Bridge.
Losing her life was Tracy Franques, who lived in the North Vermilion area.
The accident occurred near mile marker 134 on I-10 East.
On State Police Brooks David Facebook Page, it states that Franques was the founder and creator of Louisiana Law Enforcement Support.
“She was the rock we all leaned upon trying to encourage and stand behind all law enforcement officers in our great state in a time when most would not.”
The post said Franques was involved in several fundraisers to raise money for injured officers.
“She has done so much for the Thin Blue Line and we hope that we can return the favor,” said post.
She leaves behind her husband Ken Franques and children.
Ken, a former Vermilion Parish Sheriff Deputy, now works for the Lafayette Parks Police.
