Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office now accepting property tax payments online

You can pay by credit/debit card

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, his office will begin accepting property tax payments online by way of credit and debit cards.

The credit and debit cards accepted include MasterCard®, Visa®, Discover®Card and American Express®.

When you use a Visa®debit card, a fixed convenience fee of $3.95 will be assessed by the payment processing company. When you use a credit card, a fee of 3.45 percent of the total payment will be assessed ($3.95 minimum fee) by the payment processing company.

Vermilion Parish recognizes that fewer transactions take place using cash or checks and is excited to provide a paperless payment option online for its residents. Visit www.vpso.net and pay using a credit or debit card today from the comfort of your home.

“We are pleased to introduce a payment option that allows for credit and debit card transactions. It makes things much more convenient for our office and for our citizens. Our hope is that Vermilion Parish taxpayers will begin taking advantage of this new payment option,” said Sheriff Couvillon.

Sheriff Couvillon stated that this new payment system will be implemented for the upcoming property tax collection season which begins in November.
