Vermilion Parish declares state of emergency

As of 11 a.m. Friday, Vermilion Parish Police Jury President Ron Darby has declared a state of emergency for Vermilion Parish as a result of severe weather.
Citizens are asked to stay off of the roadways until further notice. Anyone experiencing flooding in a home and in need of emergency rescue, should call 9-1-1. ANYONE in ANY emergency situation should call 9-1-1.
There are plenty road closures in the parish.
Also declaring state of emergencies are Iberia and Lafayette parishes.
