Man arrested for allegedly killing Erath woman

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the investigation into the suspicious death of a 37-year-old Erath woman early Thursday morning has been determined to be a homicide after an autopsy found sufficient evidence which eliminated any possibility of the victim’s fatal injuries to be self inflicted.
The Sheriff’s Office has arrested Ryan Duhon, of 16226 St. Elmo Road in Erath. He was charged with one count of second degree murder of Christy Bourque.
No bond was set as of this time.
He was still in jail as of Saturday night.
Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that although he cannot get into specifics surrounding this investigation, he applauds the efforts of his investigative team and the Coroner’s Office for the ability to recognize inconsistencies at the crime scene, and Louisiana Forensic Lab for their efforts.
