Prophetess Anna Marie Campbell Bolden and Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr.

Boldens named Humanitarians of the Year for 68th Louisiana Cattle Festival

Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr. and Prophetess Anna Marie Campbell Bolden have been named the Humanitarians of the Year for the 68th Annual Louisiana Cattle Festival.
The event will take place in Abbeville from Oct. 13-16.
Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr. and Prophetess Anna Marie Campbell Bolden are natives of Abbeville; and with the exception of about two years, they have lived their entire lives in this city.
They were married as teenagers and have been married for forty-six years. They are the proud parents of four children: one daughter, Darriet Pryor of Abbeville; and three sons, Bobby of Baton Rouge; Jeremiah, who is the City Marshal of Abbeville, and Donnie Jr., a well known gospel artist, musician, and actor, also in Abbeville; and have 14 beautiful grandchildren.
Pastor Donnie and Sister Anna were called to Ministry forty-four years ago and started Lighthouse For Jesus Ministries on the patio of their home. Since then, they have preached the uncompromised Word of God. They started with eight members and have grown to over two hundred members. Under their inspired leadership, two schools came in to being:
Lighthouse Christian Academy ( Grades K-3 to 5th), and Lighthouse Christian Preparatory (Grades 6 to 12).
The mission of the two schools is not just to educate with excellence, but to minister to the needs of every individual student so that when they leave us, they can go into the world productive, patriotic citizens with Christian values.
Their belief is that every child has extraordinary gifts, and that it is up to us to find those gifts if God places them in their care. Students have gone as far as international science fairs in engineering. Students have also graduated to enter universities in Louisiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Texas, and athletic scholarships; entered careers in the Army and Air Force; and even as a dancer at Disney World in Orlando. And, yes, one of the graduates is Koryn Hawthorne, who was in the top four of the Voice. Lighthouse Christian Preparatory School has also hosted exchange students from China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Taiwan, Thailand, Mexico, and Kirzhakstan.
After Hurricane Rita had devastated many of their congregation, Pastor Donnie and Sister Anna developed Zion Hill Subdivision in Gross Isle to give those who needed to start over an opportunity to buy a new home,
Throughout the years of their ministry, Pastor Donnie and Sister Anne have preached the Gospel to bring deliverance to those who are bound and to set the captives free. They have ministered outside the walls of the church, always seeing to the needs of the homeless, the hungry, the weak, the poor, and the elderly. Some of their missionary efforts include sending their granddaughter to Africa, supporting Gideon Bible International, supporting Vermilion Council on Aging, forming a Christmas gift program for the children of incarcerated parents. Giving back to school supplies, and using LCPS food truck to provide hot meals for the community. Their belief is to go beyond the walls of the church and to use their hands as the hands of Christ.
