Abbeville woman arrested after allegedly waving gun at ARC bus

An Abbeville woman faces charges after she allegedly waved a gun at an ARC of Vermilion bus Monday afternoon.
Abbeville Police booked Leslie Guidry for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm early Tuesday morning. She turned herself in Tuesday after police issued a warrant Monday evening.
After booking, police transported Guidry to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center. She remained in the jail Tuesday afternoon on $50,000 bond.
Abbeville Police Lt. David Hardy said the bus, occupied by more than a dozen clients of the ARC, which serves those with disabilities in the parish, came upon a truck driven by Guidry on the 300 block of Putnam Street around 2:30 p.m. on Monday. The truck was blocking the street in such a way that the bus could not go around.
“The driver (of the ARC bus) hit the horn to alert that they were behind the truck,” Hardy said the report stated. “The woman stepped out of the truck, brandishing a firearm. She waved it at the bus, which was loaded with handicap people.”
Hardy said the woman had an unidentified pistol. No shots were fired.
“She reportedly waved it and pointed it at the driver,” Hardy said. “She told them to go around.”
